"Word on the Street" Art Show & Opening Reception

Gallery 211 will have an opening reception from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on August 1 for the opening of "Word on the Street" art show.

The public is invited to meet the artists, mingle, view original artwork, and get acquainted with many of the local artists. Some of the artists who will be available are Cheryl Hicks, Christi Barrett, Charlie Bullock, Ed McCain, Steve Willis, Marc (Metal Mac) Nagley, Celene Terry, Sharon Benningfield, Norma Fitzwater, Mary Ann Odom, Don Hollis, Ramona Freeman, Bryan Stone, along with a number of other folks.

"Word on the Street" consists of sculptures, abstract painting, textured paintings, water colors, oils and myriad other presentations of art and imagination. Are there really words on the street? Certainly. From Charlie Bullock's haunting glimpse into the streets of New York on Sept. 11 via his large canvas panel entitled "9-11", to Celene Terry's whimsical family of chickens pecking at the painted word "STOP", exhibits touch on a variety of interpretations of this theme.
